Policy Overview The DELSU Journal of Computing & Information System (DJCIS) is concerned about the withdrawal of manuscripts after submission. This policy outlines the procedures and ethical considerations for manuscript withdrawal. It is mandatory for authors to follow the publication and plagiarism ethics of DJCIS.
It is considered unethical and deplorable to withdraw a manuscript from a journal for the reason that it has been accepted by another journal. Authors must ensure that their manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere before submitting to DJCIS.
Important Notice Withdrawing a manuscript solely because it has been accepted by another journal is considered a serious ethical violation and may result in sanctions, including being banned from future submissions to DJCIS.
A manuscript can be withdrawn at any phase of the review and publication process. The following procedure must be followed:
Submit a formal withdrawal request letter to the Editorial Board stating the reasons for withdrawal. The request must clearly identify the manuscript (title and submission ID).
The withdrawal request letter must be endorsed (signed) by ALL co-authors. Requests submitted by only the corresponding author without co-author consent will not be processed.
The Editorial Board will review the request and respond within 5-7 business days. Withdrawal is not automatic and must be approved by the Editor.
Upon approval, the corresponding author will receive a formal withdrawal confirmation. The manuscript will be removed from the review/publication queue.
Withdrawal Charges Withdrawal requests made after the manuscript has entered the peer-review process may be subject to an administrative fee to cover the costs of processing and reviewer time already invested. No fees apply: Withdrawal requests made within 48 hours of submission (before assignment to reviewers). Administrative fee applies: Withdrawal requests made after peer-review has commenced.
Sanctions for Unethical Withdrawal Authors found to have withdrawn a manuscript after it has been accepted by another journal (dual submission) may face the following sanctions: • Immediate rejection of the withdrawn manuscript • A ban on new submissions from all authors for a period of 1-3 years • Notification to the authors' institutions and funding bodies • A formal notice posted on the journal website regarding the violation
